This project is driven by Architectural Design Studio 4, as an approach to support the design through extensive research within the framework of sustainability design in Asia. The sustainability design framework focuses on the building assigned for site visit, at Belum Rainforest Resort, with research objectives defined through in-depth literature review, leading to a well-established case study paper structure and writing.

The topic of the research paper is outlined as “Solutions to heat gain challenge  using roof garden  as an approach in nature responsive design  in modern deluxe suite of Belum Rainforest Resort, Pulau Banding”.

Every street in a city has its unique characteristics which can be identified from its function, urban fabric and history. Some streets may constitute rich heritage values which reflect the local culture of a particular community; some of them may be utilized mainly to serve the livelihood of a local community by catering to various economical activities; some may be well developed with modern facilities, as a result of vast urban development.

Every city in Asia has its own unique characteristics, due to the different ways of life of its dwellers. The appearance of the streets today may have changed in the past decades due to modernisation and globalisation, which in turn may have changed the way of life of its community.

This project involves the study of STREETS in an Asian city, which Jalan Sultan is chosen as the location, to understand the historical and social aspects of a city by examining the development of tradition, modernization and globalization of streets.
